Meet The Team
Great news. There are actual people behind The Career Mint; people who care about the content they're putting out in the world and who only want to see you succeed. Not to toot our own horns or anything, but we think you're really going to like them. Toot. Toot.

Julia,
collegiate resource

Brian, mentor
Brian is the Vice President of Global Supply Chain for a major, multi-national business headquartered in the U.S.A. He also happens to be a very valuable mentor at The Career Mint who is available for mentor sessions and practice interviews.
His global team is responsible for procurement, supply chain planning, logistics, global trade and process optimization for customer and sales services. He has over 135 employees in his current organization.
Brian has held numerous leadership positions with different companies in the Supply Chain, Business Management, Product Management, Procurement, e-Business, and Manufacturing. He has directly or indirectly managed over 750 employees over the course of his career, ranging from small, local teams to larger, multi-functional, multi-cultural teams. He has faced numerous challenges during his 30+ career and is known for his ability to build cohesive teams, drive change management programs, and deliver results through positive means. He currently mentors several individuals on a regular basis to help in their own career development.
He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering in 1987 and his MBA in 1995.
Brian enjoys spending time with his family, reading books, listening to music, and following his favorite football, soccer, college lax, and baseball teams. He is also an aspiring golfer who finds himself in the woods and water more often than the fareway. For now.

Jackie Vermeulen,
founder
Jackie is the founder of The Career Mint. If you read her resume, you would learn her experience includes freelance work, copywriting for an IT company, and being a tiny writing cog in a major corporation, which all inspire many of the posts she writes here. She works closely with the mentors you see below and some off-site experts to address the hard-hitting career topics.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising with a focus on copywriting.
If she had a personal blog, her description would be: Writer, *Dream-Catcher, Family CEO and Black-Coffee-Drinker. Alas, she does not have a personal blog because of that very (time-consuming) description.
*Dream-catcher? What is this fluffy, nonsense term? Well, Jackie is the person to talk to if you have a dream. She'll be the first person to say, "Awesome! How can I help you make this happen?" See? Dream-catcher. Ah, yes, it does make sense now.
Julia is a student athlete and finance major/consulting minor at a public ivy college. She carries a 3.96 GPA. She is involved in various business clubs such as Smart Woman Securities and Finance Academy.
This summer she is working as an intern in the Risk Department at a nationally recognized bank.
In her free time, she enjoys running, going on adventures, wine and cheese nights, and anything to do with food.

Think you'd make a fantastic stock photo advice contributor, too? Pray tell...

Curtis,
tech mentor
Curtis is a network and security engineer with over eight years of IT experience in corporate and cloud environments. He's the guy from The Career Mint team to talk to if you want to learn more about the demanding industry or do a practice technical interview.
On any given day, he works on network architecture, automation, implementation, and monitoring; implements and maintains security standards; configures and deploys devices; and more. (That list could go on and on, but we know you have other things on your to-do list like schedule that practice technical interview.)
When Curtis is not working, he is working (as a 24/7 environment requires). He also dedicates his time to earning new certifications. His current certifications include: Comptia A+, Comptia Network+, ITIL Foundation v3, Windows Service 2012 Early Experts, CCNA Routing and Switching (200-120), Dell Networking Technical Specialty (E, C, S, Z Series), CCNA Security (640-554), CCNP Security, and CCNA Cloud.
When he is actually not working, he enjoys the great outdoors from the deck (grilling with a beer in his hand), on the green (fore!), and in the woods while hunting and fishing.
